Founder & Executive Director
Dr. Laylan Hussein Fadladeen is a specialist in plant tissue culture and an Assistant Professor in the Forestry Department at the College of Agriculture, University of Duhok. She holds a PhD in Plant Tissue Culture and has extensive practical and academic experience in producing economically valuable plants using advanced laboratory techniques.
With a strong commitment to modernizing agriculture in the Kurdistan Region, Dr. Laylan founded Dr. Laylan Agroproject to address pressing environmental and agricultural challenges, including climate change, deteriorating crop varieties, and reduced local production. Her vision is to bridge the gap between science and farming, empower women—especially those affected by conflict—and promote sustainable, high-quality agricultural practices.
Dr. Laylan’s work integrates innovative farming methods, such as hydroponics, vertical aeroponics, and indoor agriculture, alongside renewable energy solutions to create a resilient, environmentally responsible agricultural sector. She has collaborated with both academic institutions and private companies to deliver training, research, and large-scale seedling production projects.

Assistant Executive Director (AED)
Chiman Khalil Ibrahim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Duhok. She is skilled in plant tissue culture techniques and has a strong background in environmental studies, with comprehensive knowledge gained through both academic training and practical experience.
During her studies, Chiman developed expertise in forest ecology, silviculture, nursery management, afforestation, agroforestry, forest management, and forest economics. Her passion for environmental sustainability and scientific agriculture aligns with Dr. Laylan Agroproject’s mission to promote climate-smart practices and preserve natural resources.
In her role as Executive Assistant to the Founder, Chiman supports project coordination, training programs, and laboratory operations, ensuring that the organization’s initiatives run smoothly and effectively. She brings dedication, technical expertise, and an eye for detail to every aspect of her work.
PTC Lab Agronomist
Zhiyan is a Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory Agronomist with expertise in plant micropropagation, in vitro cultivation, and laboratory-based crop improvement. She specializes in producing high-quality, disease-free planting materials through modern plant tissue culture techniques while maintaining strict aseptic and quality control standards. Her experience includes culture initiation, multiplication, rooting, acclimatization, and the optimization of propagation protocols for economically important crops. Zhiyan works collaboratively with researchers, laboratory technicians, and project partners to support innovative agricultural research and practical applications. Passionate about sustainable agriculture and plant biotechnology, she is committed to advancing climate-resilient farming, conserving valuable plant genetic resources, and contributing to improved agricultural productivity through science-driven solutions.
PTC Lab Agronomist
Sozveen is a Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory Agronomist dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture through plant biotechnology and in vitro propagation techniques. She has experience in the production of healthy, disease-free plant materials using modern tissue culture methods and is skilled in laboratory aseptic practices, culture establishment, shoot multiplication, rooting, acclimatization, and quality assurance. She contributes to the development and refinement of propagation protocols for a range of crops, supporting both research and large-scale plant production. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, Sozveen helps bridge scientific research with practical agricultural applications. She is passionate about crop improvement, plant genetic resource conservation, and promoting innovative, climate-smart solutions that enhance agricultural productivity and strengthen food security.
Open Field Supervisor
Sherzad serves as the Open Field Supervisor at the Dr. Laylan Agroproject, where he oversees day-to-day field operations and ensures the effective implementation of agricultural activities. He coordinates land preparation, planting, irrigation, crop maintenance, and harvesting while promoting efficient resource use and adherence to sustainable farming practices. With a strong understanding of crop production and field management, Sherzad works closely with agronomists, technical staff, and project teams to monitor crop performance, maintain high operational standards, and support successful project outcomes. He is committed to improving agricultural productivity through practical field-based solutions, teamwork, and the adoption of climate-smart farming practices that contribute to resilient and sustainable agricultural development.
Our project office is officially registered with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) under Organization No. 6773, ensuring full legal recognition and operational transparency. We are authorized and regulated by the Duhok Governorate, Ministry of Interior under the Council of Ministers in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (postal code 44001). In addition, the organization is certified by the General Directorate of Agriculture/Duhok, Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, under Registration No. 6548.
